You can go down to seven kilos in two weeks

Although Lazarides lists many different causes of fluid accumulation in the body, only bowel and food reactions are absorbed in the diet itself.. Like so many strict diet plans, this diet is not so easy to adapt to a living with several family members with their own needs for more nutritious foods. You may also experience that in the first three months (Phase 1 and 2), there is a danger of going out to eat. It’s easiest to cook all the food yourself, from scratch. If you are not good at eating a lot of almonds and using calcium-rich milk replacements of soy or rice, you can easily get too little calcium in your diet, which is also not good for the weight. Be sure to eat so varied that you do not get fed up with the diet too fast. If you end up, you will gain weight again, and you’ll be able to get a jojo effect with steady slimmer and heavier periods. This can ultimately destroy your combustion and make it almost impossible to lose weight.

– The water drop diet is relegated as a revolution in slimming because it absorbs unwanted fluid accumulation in the body as a cause of excessive body weight, says nutritionist cand. scientist, gunn helene arsky.

Using simple food lists of what you should and should not eat, and a three-phase food plan, you can easily gain weight reduction, claims the nutritionist and the author.

Something for you?

Have you tried “Everything” to lose weight? If you think you eat about nothing and exercise regularly and still fail to go down the last kilo, it may be due to too much water in your body.. The water drop diet should help if you have an upset stomach, if you have swelling of the skin and the ankles, and if you have a lot of cellulite.

Waterfall Diet

The waterfalls diet is about fighting idiopathic edema – a state of fluid collections in the body, which has no known medical explanation. This form of edema in women is often seen in menstruating age, even if they do not suffer from heart disease, liver disease or kidney disease.

– Often the edema occurs just before menstruation, but it may also be a more constant and serious problem. It appears that those with idiopathic edema have a leak in the smallest blood vessels (capillaries) so that fluid moves from the blood vessels into the surrounding tissues, says Arsky.

Thus, the patient will also have a smaller total blood volume, which in turn causes the kidneys to remain salty. And thus you’re in a negative spiral, as more salt in the body means even more fluid accumulation.

Heavy water

The waterfalls diet is based on the theory that fluid accumulation in the body helps to increase body weight. Linda Lazarides believes that there are several conditions that can cause fluid to accumulate:

Bowel bowel and food allergy: With age, the stomach becomes poorer to make enough hydrochloric acid, which helps to break down proteins from the food before being sucked into the intestine. Poor breakdown means that the proteins come all the way down the intestine and lead to irritation and inflammation. An irritated intestinal surface can then be “leaked” and release other and potentially harmful substances into the bloodstream. The immune system combats the foreign substances, among other things, by increasing the amount of fluid in the body. According to Lazarides, there are foods like wheat, dairy products and eggs we will most often react to, which may be the cause of the fluid gatherings.

Toxins in the body: According to Lazarides, the body will use extra water to dilute toxins from contamination, cigarette smoke and medication, which can lead to increased amounts of fluid in the body. If this is the reason for your fluid accumulation, it will take some longer to lose the excess water.

Too high salt intake

“The most important factor that determines how much excess water fresh people have in the body is the salt intake,” says Birger Svihus, professor of nutrition at the Norwegian University of Science and Biological Sciences.

– The food we eat today contains too much salt, about 10 grams more than we need. And salt binds water, he says.

You also drink more water when you eat a lot of salt, which in turn contributes to a high fluid intake.

– A reduction in salt intake from today’s average 10 grams to the daily need of less than one gram, causes the water content in the body to decrease by 1.5 liters!

Svihus adds that both alcohol and caffeine affect the water balance in the body.

How to follow the

If you eliminate the foods that create problems for you, the fluid accumulation will decrease and you will lose weight quickly. Up to seven kilos in two weeks, Lazarides promises. The diet plan is divided into three phases, and it is not a low calorie diet, but to choose the right food.

Looks like low carb

The water drop diet is similar to the general dietary advice of the Norwegian health authorities, except that you will not eat wheat, even not whole grains, in the first phase. The foods recommended are healthy, clean and full of nutrients. Water is recommended as the best dry drink – as does the dietary advice. The diet is not low calorie in itself, but you will almost automatically eat less calories in the first two stages – because so much of the diet should be based on fruits, vegetables and lean meats. In fact, the diet reminds me of a low carb diet, which seems to be slimming on many of us.

Phase 1: Get rid of the food you are reacting to. Goods for two months and help you get rid of excess fluid as quickly as possible by cutting out anything that can cause an allergic reaction. In this phase you can eat fruits, vegetables, legumes, brown rice, nuts, seeds, soy products, tofu, chicken and fish. Avoid bread, pasta, wheat products, milk and dairy products, eggs, red meat, ready meals, sugary foods, chocolate, mayonnaise, alcohol and coffee.

Phase 2: Find out what you can withstand. The phase lasts for four weeks and allows you to reintroduce foods to see which leads to fluid accumulation. You eat as in Phase 1, but in the first five days of week 1 you reintroduce wheat. If you get tired of your head, get tired or lose weight, stop immediately. Either way, you will not have wheat in the last two days of week 1. In week 2 you also re-introduce dairy products in the same way as with wheat. In week 3, the egg is to be reintroduced, and in week 4 yeast extract.

Phase 3: Prevent the fluid from accumulating again. The phase is continued for an indefinite period and allows more foods. Nevertheless, you are encouraged to allow 90 percent of your diet to consist of what you ate in Phase 1 and only 10 percent of what you tried in Phase 2 or whatever else you wish if you did not respond to it.

Grease or water?

If you are in doubt about your extra kilos due to fat or water, there are good bathing scales to be purchased that easily measure the amount of muscle, water, fatty tissue and skeleton in the body.. Many gyms also offer body analysis with even more specific information. However, to rule out other and more serious causes of fluid retention, you should check with a doctor before starting the diet.

First, you can try this simple self-test. If you answer two or more of the questions, you may be among those who want fluid collections in the body.

  • Have you followed regular diet plans, but never reached a certain weight level, even if you have been on the diet for several months or years?
  • Press a fingernail firmly into the fingerprint of your thumb. Does the nail tag look good even after a few seconds?
  • Press your fingertip firmly into the skin at the leg. Can you make a pit?
  • Do your ankles tend to swell?
  • Has your shoe size increased over the years?
  • Do you occasionally have trouble getting your rings?
  • Is your stomach often tight and bloated?
  • If you are a woman – do you often suffer from sore breasts?

Six recipes from the Waterfall Diet

Here are six recipes from the book of Linda Lazaride’s book “The Waterfall Diet: Lose Up To 14 Pounds In 7 Days By Controlling Water Retention”:

Havre Pancakes

4-6 big pancakes:

Oats are naturally gluten-free, rich in fiber and beta-glucans.

  • 110 g oatmeal
  • 110 g spelt flour
  • 1.5 dl luncheon soy milk
  • 3 dl lukewarm water
  • 2 tablespoons of soyoghurt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda

Mix oatmeal and flour in a large bowl. Gently stir milk, water and yogurt into a smooth, thick stir. Cover and leave for an hour (or overnight if you want to eat the pancakes for lunch). Stir in baking soda just before cooking.

Place a thick-frying pan on the oven and grease the hot surface with a paper dipped in oil. Cook a thin pancake medium heat for about a minute on each side. Grease the pan between each frying pan.

If you do not eat them right away, put the pancakes in a stack of kitchen paper between. Once they have cooled down, they stay in the refrigerator for a few days and only need to be quickly heated in the oven before eating them.

If you want to freeze the pancakes, they must be frozen separately, otherwise you will not loose them apart.
