Dietary supplement does not work
Before, it was just tran. Tran on a brown bottle that tasted a pain, but apparently it was healthy. Then came the cleaning techniques, the antioxidants and the other means that made the worst taste disappear.

Sel oil – omega-3 in time
Sel oil, both in liquid form and as capsules, has become a popular alternative to fish oil. The products in the trade are for confusion like (Sunkost, Iglo. ).
They contain all oil from seals with 20-25 percent omega-3 fatty acids. The structure of the molecules is somewhat different than in fish oil, which is the background for the claim for additional health benefits. If this is correct, it’s still too soon to say.
Tran is still tran
Tran is oil pressed from liver to fish, most often cod, which is then cleaned and added antioxidants and vitamins A and D so that the amount will be correct. Examples are Møller’s tran (with and without lemon), Lofot Tran and Pharmacy’s tran. All contain 25 percent omega-3 fatty acids, so that one childskin (5ml) gives 1.2 grams of omega-3.
Omega-3-tran is “tran plus”
Møller’s Omega-3 tran is still based on liquid cod liver oils, but this is concentrated so that the final concentration of omega-3 fatty acids is increased to 40 percent. One baby skirt (5 ml) therefore gives up to 1.7 grams of omega-3.
Fish oil capsules in many forms
Triomega, Nycoplus and Møller’s Double are all examples of capsules containing concentrated fish oil. Here the oil is not isolated from the liver, but from the whole fish. The oil is cleaned and concentrated so that the omega-3 content reaches about 60 percent.
When the different capsules on the market contain so different amounts of omega-3 per. capsule, due to this essentially different size of the capsules.
If you want to compare the price or amount of omega-3 in the different products, therefore, you must take into account how many capsules you must eat to get you a given dose (f. example. 1 gram) omega-3. There are large price differences between the different products on the market.
Multi-capsules have less fish oil
Another thing that varies is what other capsules contain. Many contain vitamins A, D and E, as liquid cranes do. But some are also added to other vitamins, minerals or herbs.
Capsules with many such additives often have less space for fish oil, so the amount may be in the lowest layer to give health effects.
The capsules that are neither added to vitamins or other active substances are best suited if you want to increase your intake beyond what is recommended on the package. This is because the intake of Vitamin A and D may otherwise be in the highest level.

For those who are strict vegans or for other reasons, want a vegetable source of omega-3 fatty acids, this is an ok option. However, you must be aware that omega-3 from plant sources is not as effective in protecting against cardiovascular disease and joint disease.
Flaxseed oil, rapeseed oil and walnut oil are natural sources of these short-chain omega-3 fatty acids.
Omega 3, 6, 7 and 9
One last group of products are those who advertise that they contain omega-3, omega-6, and also omega-7 and 9. Most famous is Udo’s Choice. The problem with these is that you pay for fatty acids that you get in abundant mouth from other sources in the diet and that the omega-6 fatty acids can counteract the effect of omega-3. The exception is omega-6 fatty acids from nightlight oil, which appear to have similar effects as omega-3.
Environmental hazards in fatty fish
With today’s diet, which contains a lot of omega-6 fatty acids and little omega-3 fatty acids, it makes sense to increase the intake of especially the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids found in fish. Since fatty fish can contain environmental substances, the Food Safety Authority recommends limiting the intake of two meals a week.
