Vegetable “mozzarella cheese” based on 8% soy protein, 2% tofu and 25% partially hydrogenated soya oil – which means that it is industrially converted to trans fat which is an unfortunate fat type. Exactly how much trans fatty acids it contains is not specified.
Vegetable ozsterella has higher caloric content (421 vs. 317) and contains less protein, more fat, carbohydrates and not least salt!
Conclusion: There is no doubt that the real mozzarella cheese is a better choice. Put in another way; soyamozzarella is a direct bad choice!
