Saturday turned out to be the worst day of overeating.

In the study, 48 adults, all of whom had a body mass index (BMI), were in normal weight or obese, but no one should have been very overweight.

Participants were placed in one of three groups. The first group maintained its old lifestyle and maintained regular activity level, group two reduced calorie intake by twenty percent, and the third group increased its daily activity level by twenty percent.

The participants in the group that reduced calorie intake decreased weight during the week, but the weight loss stopped on weekends because they ate more. Schedule the weekend

This pattern will over time delay the weight loss for people who follow a special diet or exercise plan, according to Susan Racette – which can lead to frustrations when the kilos do not let go as fast as expected.

The doctor recommends that you plan your meal in advance of the weekend, so that you find healthy alternatives. You may also want to write down in a diary what you eat every day so that you can detect unhealthy patterns in your diet.

Also try to focus less on the food, and more on social at festivals and other festive occasions, the doctor advises.
